Daryl Clark celebrated a hat-trick of awards as Castleford Tigers held their annual player of the year presentation evening at the Kings Croft Hotel, in Pontefract.
The outstanding young hooker – called up by England this week – was rewarded for his impressive season by picking up the player of the year, the players’ player of the year and the young player of the year trophies.
In front of a packed audience, Clark and Michael Shenton were also congratulated on making the England squad for this autumn’s Four Nations tournament and for being named in the 2014 Super League Dream Team.
The under 19s awards, sponsored by Castleford Tigers Supporters Club, got proceedings under way with Christine Taylor welcomed to the stage to present the trophies and coach Ryan Sheridan doing the announcing.
Under 19s shooting star award went to Ash Robson while most improved player was Brad Hey, coaches player of the year Brad Day and player of the year Will Maher.
Next up was the main event and the audience welcomed Daryl Powell to the stage to introduce the winners:
