CASTLEFORD Tigers star Rangi Chase is set to continue his international career after being selected for the 24-man England squad for the forthcoming autumn internationals and high-altitude training camp in South Africa.

After a difficult season dogged by controversy and speculation the call-up is a timely boost for the former Man of Steel as he looks to get his career back on track.

Chase will be competing with Warrington’s Richie Myler and Leeds’ Kevin Sinfield for a starting spot in one of the half-back places as England take on France and Wales in an international series

The first game is against Wales at the Glyndwr University Racecourse Ground, Wrexham, on Saturday, October 27 (2.30pm) with a home game against the French at Craven Park, Hull on Saturday, November 3 (2.30pm) and a possible final at the Salford City Stadium on Sunday, November 11 (5pm).

Tickets cost just £12 (adults) and £6 (concessions) and are available from the RFL ticket office on 0844 8561113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk

England coach Steve McNamara said: “This year’s international programme, including our camp to South Africa, is all about fine tuning our preparations ahead of the Rugby League World Cup in just over a year’s time.

“The autumn internationals will be a tough test against two nations (France and Wales) who are making good progress. Like us, they will use this tournament as preparation ahead of the World Cup. We want to make sure we play to our very best and win well.”

The England squad also includes Castleford-born Gareth Ellis and three former Featherstone Lions players in Zak Hardaker, Rob Burrow and Tom Briscoe.
