Castleford Tigers have been encouraged by the number of new fans buying season tickets for the 2014 Super League season.

In an update to fans on season ticket sales progress, chief executive Steve Gill said: “We’ve analysed our sales and they show 16 per cent of season ticket holders were new fans who had never bought a season ticket before, which is really positive news as it shows the level of excitement and anticipation around the club for next season.

“It would be great for the club if all of last year’s ‘members’ renew and we manage to maintain the increase in new season ticket holders.

“We understand that it can be really tough financially for a lot of people at this time of year and as such we have looked at different ways of keeping the costs down and help our loyal fans. Although we cannot offer drastically cut price season tickets as our 2014 business plan would suffer dramatically, we have broadened the options available to fans to try and cater for the needs of as many as possible.

“Our Tigers Daily Draw membership has also increased by 38 per cent which, coupled with increased sponsorship partners, is putting us in a strong position. But we cannot afford to let complacency creep in and must continue to drive the club through these tough economic times and reward our fans for their loyal support over the past years.”

Season tickets are available from www.castigers.com or the Carlton Lanes club shop, or by phoning 01977 555336.
