WELSH international prop forward Dan Fleming has joined Co-operative Championship side Batley Bulldogs on a dual contract.
Fleming, 19, who signed a new two-year full-time deal with the Tigers in April, is highly thought of at Cas and represented the full Welsh international side against France last week.
He aims to gain first team experience with the Bulldogs in the rest of this season to stand him in good stead for a crack at Super League in 2013.
Tigers head of youth development, Steve Gill said: “Daniel has really put himself to the fore this year and at 6ft 3ins tall and 106kgs in weight he has been a real presence for the 20s.
“I have been speaking to John (Kear) about him for the past few weeks and asked him to help in Daniel’s development by letting him play Championship football for the rest of the season so we can see where he is for next year.
“Ian (Millward) has fully endorsed this and will converse with John on a weekly basis regarding Daniel’s development.
“Daniel has already impressed John with his efforts in training with Batley and could make his debut for the Bulldogs at home to Leigh at the weekend.”
