CASTLEFORD Tigers half-back Rangi Chase is facing a ban after being charged over the 61st minute incident that left Featherstone Rovers winger Tangi Ropati with a broken jaw in Saturday’s Challenge Cup fourth round tie.

Chase (pictured) was put on report during Castleford’s 23-16 defeat at the Bigfellas Stadium and has been ordered to face the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary committee tomorrow.

Chase has been charged with the grade C offence of striking Ropati in a reckless manner.

The charge carries a suspension of two or three matches.

Samoan international three-quarter Ropati has had his jaw plated after breaking it in two places and is facing a lay-off of between 10 and 12 weeks.
