Castleford Tigers have confirmed that Danny Orr has signed a new two-year contract that will see him remain as assistant coach at the club until the end of 2015.
Orr, who had a year remaining on his existing deal, began his coaching role at the club following his retirement as a player at the end of the 2012 season.
He had a temporary spell as acting head coach following the sacking of Ian Millward and before the appointment of Daryl Powell in May, overseeing two wins from four games.
Orr said: “I’m delighted to have signed an extension to my contract at Castleford Tigers.
“I’ve had an excellent experience since I became part of the coaching staff and I’m looking forward to continuing that.
“I enjoyed the taste of being head coach, but I know that there is a learning period that I must go through before I become one permanently.
“I’m serving my apprenticeship alongside a great coach in Daryl Powell and I’m sure that I will continue to learn even more from him.”
