Former Castleford player joins Elite team

Former Super League star Wayne Godwin has been appointed as Elite Kids Coaching's new business development manager.

The ex-Castleford Tigers, Hull, Wigan and Bradford Bulls player is teaming up with another former Cas player, Ryan Hudson, who launched Elite Kids Coaching in 2015 with wife Claire.

“We have grown from two coaches to 15 coaches and now offer dance and cheerleading, survival skills for children and also gymnastics and multi sports,” explained Ryan.

“We are now covering all of Yorkshire and aim to keep raising the standards in PE for all schools.

“We have also been successful in supporting schools accessing grants, which allows them to pay for our services and allows the children that can’t afford the after school clubs to access them for free.

Ryan also runs the Elite Rugby Academy with Danny Orr, which started in Castleford and Pontefract and is going from strength to strength.

He added: “The business growing in all angles. Dewsbury Elite Rugby Academy launches in October with Francis Maloney and Matty Wildie. We also have plans for Leeds, Bradford and Hull next year also.

“The pleasing thing is we have helped over 100 children that have never played the game before coming to the Elite Rugby Academy and now playing in the amateur game for local teams.”
