HULL have appointed former Castleford Tigers assistant coach Andy Hay (pictured) to their coaching staff.

Hay has signed a three-year deal to work alongside Lee Radford under new head coach Peter Gentle.

Former Great Britain player Hay spent four years as assistant coach at Castleford but quit in the wake of the departure of Terry Matterson, who has been replaced by fellow Australian Ian Millward.

A former Castleford junior and first-team player, Hay joined the Tigers coaching staff in 2006 initially as under 18s coach before taking on the first-team assistant role a year later.

Hull director of rugby Shaun McRae said: “We are thrilled to have secured the services of a coach of Andy’s undoubted ability and certainly someone that is held in very high regard across the game.

“He has all the attributes to go on and become a top British Super League coach.”
