Castleford Tigers assistant coach Danny Orr is coming out of retirement for one game to play in Craig Huby’s testimonial on Boxing Day.
The Tigers are set to announce a strong squad for the game against Halifax with most of their new signings taking part, but there will be one special guest with Orr back in a Cas shirt alongside his friend, Huby, who is being honoured for his 10 years plus service at the club.
“Danny Orr will take part, but it’s a one-off for him,” said head coach Daryl Powell.
“He’s been training with the boys and has been going pretty well.
“Obviously he’s good friends with Craig Huby and he asked him to play. So he will be out there at some point during the game.
“He’s still pretty fit and looks after himself.
“It should be good. It’s an opportunity for us to get out in the middle and just check on some of the things we’ve been working on, making sure we’re moving in the right direction.”
