CASTLEFORD Tigers star Rangi Chase may have had a disappointing night with England as they lost 30-8 to Australia in the Gillette Four Nations final at Elland Road on Saturday, but he made the evening for two Castleford Tigers fans.

Walking round the ground after the game, the 2011 Man of Steel spotted Oliver Poskitt and Jake Corcoran applauding his efforts in the tournament and gave them the boots he had been wearing.

Oliver, aged ten, and Jake, 13, were at the game supporting England along with Oliver’s father, Keith, and his 13-year-old brother, Alex.

“I thought was a magnificent gesture, especially as he was clearly bitterly disappointed at losing,” said Keith.

“Rangi is a credit to himself, Castleford Tigers and the game of Rugby League and both Oliver and Jake, who are Tigers’ season ticket holders were, and will be for some time to come, overwhelmed by his generosity.

“Both boys have a boot each and are keeping it as a great souvenir.”
