SKIPPER Danny Orr is delighted with his winning return to Castleford after leading the Tigers to victories in their opening two games and an early top of the table position.
Scrum-half Orr (pictured) was made captain for the season after returning to the club following spells with Wigan Warriors and Harlequins and told Cas fans after the 18-12 win over Huddersfield that he was “glad to be back” and “loving every minute of it”.
Orr praised his team-mates for their efforts so far and singled out the forwards for their performance in difficult, heavy conditions at the Probiz Coliseum on Saturday.
He said: “I thought the forwards were outstanding and I take my hat off to them. They took us home and provided the platform. We wanted to win because we are not playing next week and didn’t want to lose ground.
“It’s early days yet, only two games, but it’s a good start and the boys are playing well and enjoying it.”
Orr’s half-back partner, Rangi Chase, picked out by Sky Sports as their man of the match, also praised his forwards.
He said: “It was a big effort from the big boys. They did all the hard work and it give me and Danny Orr the chance to use our kicking games.”
Chase was impressed with debutant Daryl Clark
He added: “Daryl deserved a shot and I always knew he was going to get one sooner or later. I think he’s got a big future.”
