BACK row forward Steve Snitch (pictured) is set to return to the Castleford Tigers line-up for tonight’s trip to Harlequins.
Snitch has not played since the opening game of the season at Millennium Magic after picking up a one-match ban then being ill and unable to force his way into a winning side, but head coach Terry Matterson confirmed he will feature at The Stoop.
He explained: “It’s been tough for Steve. He got a one week’s suspension and someone else got an opportunity and never looked back, but he’ll definitely be playing somewhere in the team on Friday night.
“He’s been keeping fit by playing in the under 20s side and he’s ready.
“I’m not too sure what the make-up of the side is going to be yet because there’s a doubt about a few of the players.
“Nick Youngquest is definitely out and by the end of the week we’ll know the extent of his knee injury.
“Willie Isa won’t make it either. He partially ruptured his ligaments and hopefully won’t be out too long, but with what’s coming up with the Easter programme it wouldn’t be the smartest choice for him to play.
“Craig Huby has to be a doubt as well as his wife’s due to have a baby any moment. So we’ve got to put some things together to make sure we cover all our bases.”
The 19-man squad shows one change from last week with Jordan Thompson returning in place of Youngquest. Back row forward Stuart Jones is still out after failing to shake off the shoulder injury that saw him miss the Salford game while Ryan McGoldrick played his first match of the season in the under 20s last Sunday, but is still not ready for a first team return.
Full squad: Mathers, Dixon, Arundel, Owen, Chase, Orr, Jackson, Hudson, Huby, Emmitt, Snitch, Ferres, Milner, Fozzard, Aspinwall, Thompson, Holmes, Widders, Clark.
