Castleford Tigers’ flying winger Denny Solomona is delighted to have secured his future with the Super League club.

Solomona, who made a big impact in his first season with the club, has signed a new contract that will keep him at Castleford until the end of the 2018 season.

The New Zealander joined the Tigers at the start of the 2015 season from London Broncos after just one season with them following his move from NRL club Melbourne Storm.

The 22-year-old winger was beset by a number of injuries last season, but scored 18 tries from his 15 appearances.

On signing his new contract, Solomona said: “I’m so happy to have extended my deal to stay here at Cas Tigers for the coming three seasons.

“Everyone has made me feel at home here and we have a great team both on and off the pitch.

“I’m surrounded by players and coaches who are helping me to constantly improve my game and I know I can continue to grow as a player in this environment.

“Nothing comes close to playing here at the Jungle! Our fans are awesome and I can’t wait to get back to business when the new season begins in February.”

Castleford head coach Daryl Powell is pleased to have the young winger tied up for the foreseeable future.

He said: “Denny can become the best winger in Super League if he continues the hard work and application he has shown so far this pre-season.

“He is a natural finisher with speed to burn. I’m looking forward to helping him achieve his huge potential over the next three years.”

Tigers chief executive Steve Gill added: “Denny can be one of the most exciting wingers on his day and he has really settled in here at the Tigers.

“We are looking forward to seeing him progress further in the next few years.”
