CASTLEFORD Tigers chief executive Richard Wright has praised the club's supporters who defied appalling weather to make the trek across the Pennines to watch last night's 24-10 win at Salford City Reds
About 1,800 Tigers supporters braved heavy snow and freezing temperatures to see their team win their opening Stobart Super League match.
Mr Wright said: "It was a marvellous sight to see so many Cas fans.
"They were heroic in their support for the team and I personally believe they all showed once again why we can proudly say that we have the best fans in the league.
"I would also like to thank the players for a magnificent show of control, effort and skill in such awful conditions. They performed very well and in my opinion, the result never looked in doubt.
"Credit must also go to Ian Millward and his team of coaches who have all worked extremely hard, like the players, over pre-season.
"I would also like to add that I thought the facilities at Salford were magnificent, particularly the main stand, and it really brought home how exciting our future will be in our new stadium."
