CASTLEFORD Tigers captain Danny Orr (pictured) has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of 2012.

The 33-year-old half-back or hooker rejoined his hometown club Castleford at the start of this season after playing for Wigan (2004-06) and Harlequins (2007-2010).

He said: “I initially came back to Cas with a one-year deal and to get another 12 months on top is really pleasing.

“I’ve settled in much better than I thought I would, the lads have been great. I’m really enjoying my rugby here, the club’s future looks good and I want to be a part of that.”

As well as remaining a full time player, Orr’s new contract will also involve coaching the junior players at the club. Already he plays a key role in assisting Richard Tunningley with coaching the under 18s.

Orr has made 212 appearances for Castleford including 21 this season.
