Featherstone Lions ARLFC are staging a challenge match to raise funds for three of their open-age players who have been selected for the England Lions squad to tour Fiji in November.

Joe Fox and brothers Scott and Danny Glassell have been chosen for the squad which also includes Lock Lane forward Chris Siddons.

The amateur representative side will play three games in the Pacific Island, including two against a Fiji Bati Residents team.

Lions will host a past players versus present players game at the Mill Pond Stadium on Wakefield Road on Sunday, October 2, to raise funds for the trio to assist in their financial costs for the tour.

The event, which starts at 1pm, will also feature live entertainment from local bands.

Craig Barker and Marc Richardson are coaching the past players side.

Any former Lions players who fancy a run out should contact Marc or Craig.

The England Lions squad draws on players from BARLA, student rugby league, tiers four and five competitions and the Armed Forces from across England.
