FEATHERSTONE Rovers’ new chief executive Craig Poskitt says he is impressed with the club at all levels after his first two weeks in the role.
Poskitt (pictured) joined Rovers earlier this month after switching from Castleford Tigers where he had been head of commercial sales for five years.
He said: “I’ve been impressed with great support I’ve received and there are some impressive individuals already at the club. It’s my job to pull all these people together as a team to drive the club forward and realise our ambition of playing top flight rugby league which are definitely capable of.
“We will be meeting with the RFL hierarchy very shortly to discuss the criteria for Super League and how we can formulate a successful bid. We will also be launching a mini-season ticket next week so it really is exciting times to be connected with Featherstone Rovers.
“We set a target of achieving 1,000 season ticket holders and as reported last week we have surpassed this target which is really encouraging. Our next target is to increase our average attendance to at least 2,500. We are aware that this will take a lot of hard work by everyone at the club but we have announced the season ticket initiative for supporters of other clubs to attend our games and it is great to see other clubs such as Leigh Centurions follow our lead. We have a strong presence in the community with the fine work being delivered under the guidance of Laurabeth Jaggar and Dave Downs.”
Rovers have launched a ‘Destination Super League 100 Club.’
It is limited to 100 members and is aimed at local businesses and individuals. The cost is £120 plus VAT and it is for the duration of the DSL campaign.
Benefits include a hyperlink to the members’ business section on a new DSL 100 Club page on the Rovers official website, company logo and name on a page in the match day programme, an invitation to a launch night, one free afternoon corporate facilities hire and a quarterly newsletter.
Rovers commercial manager Paul Taylor said “Since Mark Campbell announced Destination Super League last month, we have received unprecedented interest in the club from supporters, the media and business partners alike. The DSL 100 Club offers a great opportunity for the business community and individuals to show their support to the club whilst also some real tangible benefits.”
