Featherstone Rovers have appointed Mark Butterill as head coach of their under 20s side for next season.
Butterill previously had a successful spell as Rovers under 19s coach. He has also coached Milford Marlins and Bramley Buffaloes.
Rovers head coach John Bastian said: “Mark is a good character and has a great attitude to the sport of rugby league.
“Whether it be playing or coaching, Mark shows great enthusiasm and has the right ingredients to work with talented young men who want to develop to the best players they can possibly be.
“I have kept in regular contact with Mark during his career and I feel this is a great opportunity for him to cut his teeth and be responsible for looking after and developing the next generation of talent at Featherstone Rovers.”
Butterill said: “I am very proud to have been given the opportunity to coach the under 20s at Featherstone Rovers next year in what I believe will be a very exciting period in the club’s history.
“The board and John Bastian’s vision for the club coupled with the quality of the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes made my decision to come back a very easy one.
“I feel I have some unfinished business from when I was here in 2010 which gives me the drive and determination to be successful. My remit is to produce young players for the first team which excites me as I know for a fact that if they are good enough John will play them.”
