Featherstone's game against Salford has been postponed.

Featherstone’s home pre-season game against Salford Red Devils has been postponed for the second successive year.

Last year’s fixture was cancelled because the extended relaid pitch at Big Fellas Stadium was not ready in time.

This afternoon’s (Sunday) match has been cancelled after last night’s snow which has affected the pitch, car park and terracing.

A club spokesman said: “The heavy snow and the freezing temperatures mean that the public areas in and around Big Fellas Stadium are deemed unsafe with the club also taking into account the safety of supporters, players and staff travelling to the fixture whilst the pitch itself was under several inches of snow and unplayable.”

Rovers host National One Hunslet Hawks in the annual Gareth Swift Memorial match next Sunday (January 24).
