Will Sharp bagged three tries and Gareth Moore kicked six goals as Featherstone Rovers produced an impressive second-half display against North Wales Crusaders at Wrexham on Sunday.

The teams were locked at 6-6 at half-time but Rovers totally dominated the second-half, scoring 30 unanswered points to notch their first away win this season in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Sharp’s first try after just nine minutes put the visitors ahead but the Welsh side levelled with Tom Gilmore’s 20th minute try that Tommy Johnson goaled.

Rovers, urged on by a large following in the 1,418 crowd, took control in the second period.

Stand-off Kyle Briggs, making his first appearance since last April following major knee surgery, sparked the second-half spree when he went over from half-back partner Moore’s clever inside pass.

Sharp added two more tries and Moore and George Flanagan also crossed as Featherstone ran away with the game.

Moore was in excellent form with the boot, landing several touchline conversions to finish with a personal haul of 16 points.
