CHAMPIONS Featherstone Rovers are hosting a Grand Final celebration in the clubhouse this evening (Friday).

The event, which starts at 7pm, celebrates Featherstone’s achievements last season when they beat Sheffield Eagles 40-4 in the Co-operative Championship Grand Final at Warrington and also lifted the League Leaders’ Shield after losing just one league match.

Admission is free and the event will be attended by the first-team players.

Entertainment will be provided by pop group ‘Twice Nightly’ who will be play party music.

There will also be a DJ. Food will be available to purchase on the evening.

Rovers will hold their annual business partners evening at Bigfellas Stadium on Monday, December 12 (6pm start).

The event is a ‘thank you’ to business partners who have supported the club in 2011 and partners who have already pledged their support in 2012.

Local businesses who would like to find out more about Rovers are also invited to attend.

Those attending can watch the first-team squad in pre-season training before enjoying a hot buffet which will be followed by a presentation outlining the club’s plans for 2012 and beyond.

Rovers commercial manager Paul Taylor said: “Our 2012 fixtures are published at the beginning of December so now is the ideal opportunity to thank all our business partners in 2011 who contributed significantly to our successful year. It is also timely to thank business partners both new and old who have confirmed they will support the club in some way next season.

“As a club, Featherstone Rovers are striving to become even more business orientated and the evening will also allow us to introduce ourselves to potential new business partners, promote our facilities and update partners on the club’s development. ”

Rovers are staging a Christmas party on Friday, December 23, in the clubhouse (6.30pm start). There will be a hot buffet and entertainment by comedian Gary Skyner. Featherstone’s new home kit for 2012 is set to be unveiled this month.

Simon Riley, the club’s chief executive, said: “We haven’t got an exact date for the kit launch but we are still scheduled for some point in December. It will definitely be before Christmas.”
