Team manager Sean Long is happy Featherstone Rovers have a free weekend after last Sunday’s 40-26 qualifying play-off win against Leigh Centurions.
Rovers are 80 minutes away from reaching the Grand Final for a fourth successive year after booking a home qualifying semi-final.
Former Great Britain half-back Long said: “A weekend off is vital for us because we have a few injuries.
“We have a few sore bodies that we have been carrying from the Sheffield game.
“A few of our lads were playing a bit busted last Sunday.
“There are a couple of lads, like Andy Kain, who were carrying knocks but they got through the game.
“Obviously, we’ll still train this week but not having a match this weekend will fresh the team up and benefit us.”
Rovers welcomed back centre Greg Worthington and hooker Ben Kaye from injury against Leigh but they were without centre Vince Mellars.
“Vinny has had a bit of a sore knee,” added Long.
“He’s been carrying it a while so we decided to give him a weekend off and hopefully he should be back for the next game.”
