On-loan Frankie Mariano has returned to Wakefield Wildcats from Featherstone Rovers and is in their squad for Monday night’s Super League match at Salford City Reds.

In return, Wakefield’s centre or second-rower Vince Mellars (pictured) has joined Rovers on loan from Wakefield.

Former New Zealand Warriors, Cronulla Sharks, Sydney Roosters and Crusaders player Mellars has scored three tries in seven Super League appearances for the Wildcats this season.

Featherstone’s interim head coach Ryan Sheridan said: “Having lost several players recently due to injury and Vince Mellars being available we wanted to ensure that we were not caught short in vital positions. We look forward to welcoming Vince to our squad and I am sure he will make a positive impact.”
