FEATHERSTONE’S new home shirt for 2013 is proving a big hit with fans.

The club revealed earlier this week that shirt sales were 25 per cent up on last year.

Designed and manufactured by the club’s technical sportswear sponsor Macron, the shirt received an excellent response from supporters, commercial partners, players and coaching staff at the official unveiling on Thursday when Rovers also launched their leisurewear range.

Rovers director John Readshaw said: “We are really pleased with how the launch went.

“The evening can be deemed a success and we would like to thank all supporters who attended on the evening and have since purchased the kit.

“We have received positive feedback from supporters, commercial partners, players and coaching staff alike.

“Sales have been strong and greater than last year for both the shirt and the leisurewear.

“We would like to place on record our gratitude to our technical sportswear partner Macron who have delivered on time as promised and designed and manufactured an excellent range of garments.”

Rovers chief Executive Craig Poskitt said: “We are really pleased with the 2013 home shirt and expect it to be hugely popular with supporters.

“The evening was well attended and I’d like to thank all staff and our valued volunteers who helped on the night.

“We have extended shop opening hours in the run up to Christmas so the club shop is definitely worth a visit.”

The new shirt features the branding of the main commercial partners of the club.

Rovers commercial manager Paul Taylor said: “As previously announced we have attracted record sponsorship in 2013 and we would like to thank all our commercial partners for the commitment and faith they have shown in the club.

“Our principal commercial partner Probiz remains on the front of the shirt along with the GMB Union on the chest.

“The sleeves remain the same as 2012 with stadium naming rights holder Big Fellas Nightclub joined by CPM (Contracts) Ltd and BMG Solutions Limited.

“On the reverse of the shirt we have two partners in the form of Foster’s and DS Smith Packaging who both have a global presence and they will be joined by April UK on the playing kit.

“On the shorts in 2013 is LINPAC Packaging who make a welcome return to playing kit of Featherstone Rovers after over two decades of no association with Rovers. Once again, the socks are sponsored by MCE Installations.”

The club shop’s extended opening time today (Saturday) is from 10am to 1pm.

The home shirt and leisurewear can also be purchased through the club’s official website.
