Featherstone Rovers gave one of the best displays of the season and Batley Bulldogs produced one of their worst in Sunday’s one-sided Kingstone Press Championship game at Big Fellas Stadium.

Recent games between the teams have been close with Rovers winning 32-26 at Mount Pleasant last month and Batley coming out on top 21-20 in last September’s play-off clash at Featherstone.

But the latest encounter turned into a rout as rampant Rovers ran in 10 tries in a 52-6 win.

The Bulldogs were 30-0 down before Scott Leatherbarrow sent in Mark Applegarth for their solitary try that Lee Paterson goaled.

Rovers totally dominated the rest of the game with Greg Worthington and Jason Crookes each bagging two tries and former Batley players George Flanagan and Gareth Moore scoring against their old club.

Andy Ellis, Matt James, Andy Kain and James Mendeika were Featherstone’s other try scorers.

Moor kicked five goals and Will Sharp landed one.
