Featherstone Rovers coach Jon Sharp is hoping to make at least one more new signing.

“We are still light on numbers, as every coach would say,” said Sharp, who landed the second-row forward he was searching for when he finalised a deal to bring Frankie Mariano to Big Fellas Stadium last week.

“We maybe need at least one more and definitely an outside back.

“Hopefully, Leeds Rhinos stay healthy and we get to pick up a couple of their blokes as well which will fix us a little bit in numbers.”

Featherstone are preparing for their opening pre-season game against Halifax at The Shay on Boxing Day.

“I’ll be fielding a strong team,” said Sharp.

“I’ll play what I’ve got. I’ve only got a small squad, plus we are hoping to give an opportunity to two trialists.”

Rovers have extended the price freeze on 2017 season tickets until close of business on Christmas Eve.

Adult season tickets cost £150, concessions £100 and juniors £40.

They are available from the club’s official website and the new Rovers Superstore at Big Fellas Stadium.

Adrian Morley will be guest speaker at the annual Rovers Christmas lunch on Friday, December 16 (noon).

Tickets cost £30 each, with tables of ten people £250.

Latest £500 Rovers lottery winners are C Asquith (P5990), I Dufton (A4325), R Bradburn (Y1807), C Hunt (V5751), S Mearns (K3610).
