JON Hepworth grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Featherstone reclaimed top spot in the Co-operative Championship by running in nine tries in a 54-22 win over Hunslet Hawks at Bigfellas Stadium on Sunday.
Rovers leafrogged Leigh on points difference and they also have a match in hand on the Centurions.
Hepworth’s first two scores, plus tries from Jon Grayshon and Matty Dale gave Rovers a 24-6 half-time lead, with Danny Grimshaw crossing for the Hawks.
Hepworth and Dale added further scores after the interval with Kirk Netherton, Bryn Powell and Andy Kain also crossing for Daryl Powell’s side.
Liam Finn landed nine conversions from nine kicks.
Grimshaw, Tommy Haughey and Waine Pryce scorded second-half tries for the visitors.
Rovers hooker Ben Kaye was sent off in the 69th minute for the alleged use of an elbow.
