Featherstone retained second place in the Kingstone Press Championship with Sunday’s 48-24 win at Swinton Lions.

Rovers are 10 points adrift of leaders Leigh and two points clear of Halifax and Doncaster.

Doncaster inflicted Leigh’s first league defeat and Halifax drew at Batley.

After the previous week’s surprise loss at Rochdale Hornets, Featherstone again started shakily when Swinton took an early 6-0 lead.

However, Rovers bounced back to lead 24-12 at half-time and never looked in danger in the second-half.

Their try scorers were Jason Crookes (two), Andy Ellis, Chris Annakin, Matty Dale, Kyle Trout, Andy Kain, James Mendeika and Will Sharp.
