ROBIN Sharp has resigned as Featherstone Rovers scholarship manager after four years in the role.

Sharp, who has left to concentrate on a new venture outside rugby league, said: “I have had four great years at Featherstone Rovers and in that time the club has massively improved at all grades.

“The scholarship is now competing really well against high quality Super League opposition on a consistent basis.

“I wish the club all the best for the rest of the year and beyond and would particularly like to thank head coach Daryl Powell and chairman Mark Campbell for their support throughout.”

Chairman Mr Campbell said: “I would like to place on record my thanks to Robin Sharp for his dedication to Featherstone Rovers for the last four years.

“The Featherstone Rovers scholarship has deservedly built a strong reputation for player development and welfare which Robin played an integral part of.

“Robin has helped develop a number of young players who one day will hopefully be playing first team rugby league for Featherstone in Super League.

“I wish Robin all the best for his new venture and I’m sure he will be very successful.”
