A new stand at Featherstone’s Big Fellas Stadium has been named the Strata Homes Stand.

It is one of two new stands built by a team of volunteers and it will be sponsored by Strata Homes.

The recycling of two stands from Scarborough Football Club’s former McCain Stadium has taken over four years and has increased Featherstone’s ground capacity from 6,700 to approximately 8,000.

Strata’s housing development at Girnhill Lane, Featherstone, will have a collection of more than 200 homes.

Strata sales director Gemma Smith said she was delighted to be working with Featherstone Rovers.

She said: “Many of our purchasers are rugby league fans so we are honoured to have the Strata signage on the team’s home stand.

“There is a fantastic community spirit here and we are proud to be a part of it.”

Rovers commercial manager Paul Taylor said: “We are delighted to welcome Strata as commercial partner and would like to thank them for the sponsorship of one of our new stands.

“It’s fantastic that Strata are assisting with the regeneration of Featherstone as a town and their sponsorship is much appreciated by all at the club.”
