Centre Misi Taulapapa won the Featherstone Rovers Supporters Club player of the month award for April at Monday night’s meeting.

Supporters club member Kev Creighton presented Taulapapa with the trophy.

The Samoan international is also a leading contender for the May award after scoring three tries in last Saturday’s win at Whitehaven.

Rovers coach Jon Sharp’s player of the month award for April went to second-rower Jamie Cording.

Sharp said: “Misi Taulapapa is the best centre I’ve seen in the Championship this year.

“Switching him to centre has worked for him and worked for us. He’s been great.

“He has been consistent every week and he’s our leading try scorer this season with 11.

“Jamie Cording has been our quiet achiever .

“He goes about doing his job and he does the little things that probably the fans don’t see.

“He has been absolutely outstanding and internally within the coaching department he has won four out of the last six man of the matches for us which shows how good he has been.”

Tickets for Featherstone’s home game against London on Sunday are available from the club priced adults £18, concessions £12 and juniors £5. They can also be purchased online at the club’s official website at www.featherstonerovers.net
