COACH Daryl Powell was pleased with Featherstone’s performance in a 28-28 draw against Hull in Thursday’s pre-season game at Bigfellas Stadium.
Trailing 24-10 early in the second-half, Rovers hit back superbly to lead 28-24 but Hull levelled the scores six minutes from time when Ben Crooks - son of former Great Britain star Lee - scored his second try.
“Our players showed a lot of character,” said Powell.
Prop Dominic Maloney (pictured) made his debut for Featherstone who fielded a mix of young players and first-teamers.
Powell said: “It was Dominic Maloney’s first hit out for over a year and it takes a bit of time to blow away the cobwebs but he looks like he is going to be a strong player for us. He carried the ball well when he was out there.”
