Wakefield Wildcats today confirmed that they have extended centre Vince Mellars’ loan spell at neighbours Featherstone Rovers by another month.
Former New Zealand Warriors, Cronulla Sharks, Sydney Roosters and Crusaders player Mellars’ initial loan period ran out after Featherstone’s home Championship game against Workington last Sunday.
Mellars missed the Workington match because of a hamstring injury but he is expected to be back for Sunday’s home clash against Batley Bulldogs.
He scored a try on his second Rovers appearance in their recent 60-6 win at Barrow.
Featherstone have also taken Castleford Tigers forward Charlie Martin on a month’s loan.
