WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats have recalled on-loan hooker Andy Ellis (pictured) from Featherstone Rovers.

Ellis (pictured) scored two tries in seven appearances for Rovers and was in the starting line-up in last Sunday’s 68-0 Championship win against Hunslet Hawks.

Ellis will play in Wakefield’s Super League game at Huddersfield Giants on Sunday. He replaces Paul Aiton who will be out for between six to eight weeks with a broken jaw after he was mugged while on holiday in Spain.

Aiton, who has been the stand-out performer in Wakefield’s Super League campaign, was assaulted and robbed of a bag during a three-day break last week.

Wildcats head coach Richard Agar said: “He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

The 29-year-old Papua New Guinea international was knocked down and robbed of a bag containing a mobile phone, sunglasses and wallet on his first day in Spain.

An x-ray revealed a break and Aiton has had an operation to insert a plate in his jaw but Agar “hopes to get him back for the last couple of games” of the season.
