Featherstone Rovers have announced a two-year agreement with Weston Spencer Training Solutions which will see WSTS become a main commercial partner of the club as well as being main sponsor of the state of the art Centre of Excellence.
The Centre of Excellence is a specialist training barn and facility used by all teams at Featherstone Rovers. It includes state of the art training equipment, a wrestling area, indoor sprint track, spacious offices including physiotherapy, rehabilitation, video playback areas as well as a classroom.
WSTS chairman Shane Spencer said: ‘WSTS are proud to have agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with Featherstone Rovers. We are very much looking forward to working closely with Mark, Paul and the rest of the staff for a long and prosperous relationship.
“We are delighted to be teaching our BTEC at the stadium. The facilities are second to none and ideal for the youngsters on our course who are interested in a career in sport. The course gives the equivalent of three A Levels. John Heaton, course tutor, is a highly experienced sportsman and is teaching a varied content across multiple subjects.
“The club has been incredibly supportive to WSTS in the use of the facilities and we hope that moving forward we can get involved in the local community offering training and apprenticeships.”
Rovers commercial manager Paul Taylor said: “We are looking forward to working WSTS initially for two years but we hope to cement a long term partnership. Mark and I have been impressed with Shane and his team and the enthusiasm they have shown towards our excellent facilities and the club in general.
“It is a great endorsement to the investment that the club and Mark have made in the Centre of Excellence that a well-regarded training provider such as WSTS would like to be involved.”
