Featherstone Lions under eights rounded off a successful junior rugby league season with their annual presentation night on Saturday.

All the players received an individual trophy. Awards were presented by former Featherstone Rovers centre Greg Worthington.

Main award winners were: Most improved: Ebonie Clift, Edward Fox and Matthew Mason. Man of steel: Lewis Knight. Coaches merit: Kai Morgan. Coaches player of the year: Kelam Goodwill. 100 per cent effort: Mason Bedford and Max Mills. Parents player of the year winners: Daniel Hetherington and Kelam Goodwill. Runners up: Max Mills and Kai Morgan.

Daniel Hetherington and Kelam Goodwill have also been nominated respectively for the club’s annual Jim Bell and Tiddler Simpson memorial awards which take place later this month.

During the season, the team made 1,842 tackles, completed 1,323 runs and scored 144 tries. Greg Worthington was thanked for presenting the trophies. The team are also grateful to Jordan Developments for sponsoring this year’s kit.
