Horner is army’s new head coach

Knottingley born and bred Sergeant Graham (Jack) Horner of the Royal Logistic Corp at Aldershot is the new head coach of the British Army rugby league first team.

A former Knottingley High School pupil, he played rugby for the school and also for Knottingley Rockware junior RL club from under sevens to under 15s and then Kellingley under 17s.

He joined the army at 16 years old and has played both codes of rugby at corp level.

Graham was put through his coaching courses by the army and has coached teams in the South of Enland including Farnborough.

He was also part of the honour guard for last season’s RL Challenge Cup final at Wembley between Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos. He walked out onto the Wembley pitch with the Challenge Cup.
