BROTHERTON gave their best first-half display of the season in Saturday’s 52-28 win over West Craven in Pennine League Division Two.

They turned on the style to build an impressive 38-0 interval lead but failed to maintain the momentum.

They conceded five tries in a disappointing second-half show after easing up and going away from the game plan.

Danny Lazenby led Brotherton’s spree by piling up 20 points with a try and eight goals from nine kicks.

Man of the match Dale Boulton and Steve Ramsey each bagged two tries.

Brotherton’s other try scorers were Tom Bell, Sam Handforth, Alex Hewson and Ryan Smith.
