Yorkshire open-age take on British Army at Featherstone Lions this evening.

FEATHERSTONE Lions’ Millpond Stadium will host a warm-up match for Yorkshire’s open-age team this evening (Thursday).

Yorkshire’s trialists will take on the British Army (7.45pm kick-off) in their preparations for Tri-Series County Championship fixtures against Lancashire and Cumbria which will be played in November.

Admission to tonight’s game is £2.

All proceeds will go to the National Autistic Society.

Meanwhile, Pennine League’s management committee is currently considering Methley’s request to be included in Division Two East in the 2017-18 season rather than in Division One.

Methley, whose Royals open-age side is coming together with Methley Warriors under 18s, have pointed out that the club has won only two open age games in the last 12 months while the under 18s have been unable to raise a side for the last five weeks.

Other teams placed in Division One are Brighouse Rangers, Eastmoor Dragons, Hanging Heaton, Hunslet Club Parkside, King Cross, Lock Lane, Newsome Panthers, Ossett Trinity and Sharlston Rovers.
