FEATHERSTONE Rovers and Castleford Tigers are hosting the new Rugby League Nines competition this month.
The tournament, which has been described as rugby league’s answer to Twenty20 cricket, sees 11 Engage Super League sides compete against Halifax, Widnes Vikings, Featherstone Rovers, the British Police and Cumbria.
The Nines features four weekly rounds of festival-style fixtures played at multiple venues every Tuesday night this month.
The third round is at Featherstone’s Bigfellas Stadium on Tuesday, June 21, and will feature hosts Featherstone Rovers alongside Castleford Tigers, Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR.
The fourth round is at Castleford’s Probiz Coliseum the following Tuesday, June 28, with the hosts up against Wakefield Wildcats, Hull KR and Halifax. Tickets are £6 adults and £3 juniors.
Rovers and Tigers are also in action in the competition next Tuesday when they compete against each other plus Bradford Bulls and Halifax at Odsal.
In the final round (June 28) Featherstone take on Leeds Rhinos, Bradford and Hull FC at Headingley Carnegie.
