CASTLEFORD Lock Lane host Stanley Rangers in the Carnegie Challenge Cup second round on Saturday (1.30 kick-off) after beating Halton Simms Cross 38-4 last weekend.
Lane’s first round tie was re-arranged for last Sunday after it was postponed the previous day because of a frozen pitch.
Halton were without seven players who would have been available had the tie been played on Saturday.
A try by Lane’s Chris Tudor (pictured) was cancelled out by Halton’s Craig Duggan before the Castleford team took charge with two tries in the final five minutes of the first-half from Darren Holmes and Adam Garlick.
Leading 12-4 at half-time, Lane ran away with the game in the second-half.
Joe Groves, Lee Cartwright, Craig Duncan and Tudor bagged tries as Lane scored 26 unanswered second-half points. Wayne Hardy kicked three goals and Liam Booth landed two.
