KIPPAX Welfare ARLFC’s head junior coach Phil Edgell is the first winner of the Roger Millward Trophy.

The trophy is presented for outstanding contribution to junior rugby at Kippax.
Edgell beat off stiff competition from several other candidates and was the unanimous choice of the judges.
Edgell, who was also recently shortlisted for both the John Holmes Award and the Yorkshire Juniors Bronze Boot accolade, said: “After several years with no teams, junior ugby at Kippax is now thriving and our reputation as a friendly and welcoming club is growing. From Super League players Andy Lynch and Danny Orr on the coaching front, through to all our volunteers, this is very much a team effort.”
