The Rugby League’s independent Board of Directors has ruled that the 37-16 result from the Super League round nine fixture between Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Wildcats shall stand.

The match was abandoned after 73 minutes of play after one of the stands at the Wish Communications Stadium was evacuated following safety concerns over a suspected fire in one of the floodlights.

The RFL Board convened on Saturday and decided that the game should be awarded to Wakefield. Both clubs have supported that decision.
