there aren’t many artists in a position to tell a Wakefield audience “my next gig will be in Las Vegas”.

The home of the high rollers is one of the upcoming appointments for Californian R’n’B star Dev – but four days before she hits the Sunset Strip she’ll be strutting the stage on Smyth Street!

With current single, the feisty Bass Down Low, moving up the charts at the time of writing, the scene looks to be set for one of those “I was there” nights.

Tickets are now on sale, priced a cracking good value £8, from Wakefield Tourist Information Centre or via www.seetickets.com

Before then, on Friday, June 17, there’ll be a totally different vibe at the same venue when Chris Helme makes a welcome return for an acoustic show.

Of just as much local interest will be the support act, Ryan Spendlove, who’ll be performing songs from his debut solo album Fable.

This one is ages 14-plus, doors at 7pm and free entry.
