League toppers at festival

ANOTHER new festival is being launched in Leeds this summer with broader appeal and big names in music and entertainment.

MFEST is a family-oriented festival, with a mix of music, comedy, children’s entertainment and sports personalities.

It takes place on the weekend of Saturday, July 7 and 8 in the grounds of Harewood House.

Headliners are Texas on the first day and The Human League on the Sunday with others involved including Bob Geldof, Paul Heaton, The Levellers, Beverley Knight, Heaven 17, Inspiral Carpets, Secret Affair, Glen Matlock, Soul II Soul, From The Jam and The Farm.

It’s not merely a nostalgia fest, however, as these well established acts will share the stage with modern day chart favourites Cher Lloyd, Matt Cardle and Scouting for Girls during the two-day extravaganza.

Added to this are new British breakthrough artists, including The Low Suns, Clement Marfo and The Frontline, Missing Andy and Steve Appleton.

Sports personalities will attend as will comedy acts, who are still to be confirmed.
