Tickets on sale for hilarious care home drama

Playwright Janet Shaw’s latest show will be performed in Ossett on March 5-7.

Comedy drama One Day I’ll Fly Away, set in a respite home for the elderly, will be staged at Ossett’s St Ignatius Parish Centre.

The story follows Kylie, a 19-year-old who is working at the home after being given 300 hours community service, and Nora, an embittered elderly widow.

The pair start their relationship with a mutual dislike, but as the story unfolds their similarities emerge as it is revealed that they are walking the same path to self destruction.

The play also features missing false teeth, a cleaner who is addicted to gossip and two nurses who are in denial of their feelings for each other.

One Day I’ll Fly Away is directed by Gail Roger and will be stage by production company Jaba Inc.

Tickets for the 7.30pm shows on March 5, 6 and 7 cost £6 and £5 for concessions. They are available from C and J Armitage in Ossett’s Wellgate Centre, or on the door at the venue on Storrs Hll Road.
