Wire to play one-off gig at Wakefield’s Unity Hall

One of the most influential bands to have arisen from the 1970s punk movement are playing a one-off gig in Wakefield next month.

Post-punk and art-rock pioneers Wire will be at Unity Hall on Friday, February 20.

The band’s spiky guitar chords and obtuse lyrics have been cited as a major influence by many bands and artists, including Guided by Voices, Elastica, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand.

Tickets, priced £15, are now on sale at Wah Wah Records, on Brook Street, or from https://billetto.co.uk/en/events/wire1

There is a 16-plus age restriction.
