Xscape Yorkshire is inviting members of the public to help redesign their logo as part of a new competition - the winner of which will see their logo used on the brand's social media accounts for the rest of the year.

Xscape Yorkshire, which will reopen on Monday April 12 has, partnered up with two local artists to encourage the county to get creative and design their very own Xscape logo.

Backing the project is Pontefract artist Rachel List, who painted a series of murals paying tribute to the NHS during lockdown and Leeds-based artist, Nicolas Dixon.

The Create Your Xscape competition is giving people the chance to design their own version of the brand’s logo.

Yorkshire artists Rachel List and Nicholas Dixon are backing the competition.

The winner will see Xscape use their logo on social media for the rest of 2021 to celebrate the phased reopening of its activities out of lockdown.

Rachel said: “No idea is wrong, if you’re struggling for inspiration and you're staring at a blank page wondering where to start my top tips are relax and keep it simple.

“Start with the first idea that pops into your head, as you can always try again. Then sketch out a few ideas before you attempt a final design.

“Most importantly have fun!”

The aim of the competition is for people of all artistic abilities to come together in celebration of all the activities they have missed during lockdown - and what they are most looking forward to doing again when restrictions ease.

Entrants are being asked to paint, colour or collage a design within the logo template provided by Xscape and upload a photo of the finished design to social media using the Xscape handle @xscapeyorkshire and competition hashtag #createyourxscape.

The winner will also receive a prize bundle including four Gravity Climb and Jump Combo Tickets, four Funstation Fun Cards and a £60 Nando’s Gift Card.

Nicolas said: “Be bold and brave, don’t be scared of colour. Instead embrace it and do what you feel is right.

“Rules are there to be broken so try it out. What’s the worst that can happen?

“You’ll know yourself if it sits right and if not try again until you get to the point when you are happy with your design.

“Good luck and I look forward to seeing these creations.”
