The outlet centre confirmed last week that it would begin reopening from Monday, June 15, in line with government guidance.

But a number of new rules will be in place, designed to protect staff and customers during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Darren Winter, Centre Director, Junction 32, said: “Safety is our highest priority. We’re working hard to ensure we adhere to all government guidelines at Junction 32, and will be taking a robust approach to cleanliness and hygiene.

"As well as the thorough cleaning of the centre, we will be using floor markings and signs to remind guests to keep the required distance apart, will be providing hand sanitiser for guests and staff to use at a number of points throughout the centre, and our security and concierge teams will be available to help manage queuing.

"From 15th June, guests will be able to check which stores are open on our website and we will list FAQs there too.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming our guests back and will be fully compliant with government guidance at all times.”

Under the new guidance, hand sanitiser points will be located across the centre, and a two-way system will be in place to encourage social distancing.

Guests may also notice new signs and floor markings reminding them of the importance of keeping apart.

Additionally, a queuing system will be introduced for entry to the centre, and capacity will be limited.

Cleaning and security staff will be provided with masks to wear at work.

Under current UK government advice, non-essential retailers will be allowed to open from next week, provided they have carried out a risk assessment and introduce measures to encourage social distancing where possible.

Wakefield's Trinity Walk and Ridings shopping centres are among those to have confirmed plans to begin reopening from next week.
