Owners Antony and Lisa de Csernatony, who also own neighbour Kraft:Barbers, are long-time supporters of bringing bars out onto the streets.

Antony said: “Having an outside cafe-bar set-up would a great way to help fledgling businesses like ours and hopefully we’ll have great weather over the summer.”

The couple had plans to redevelop their Wood Street address into a bar and despite the coronavirus crisis they decided to take the plunge and open their new venture this week. Antony said: “The whole of Wakefield was building nicely and then Covid hit so everything stopped.

“But we decided to react and thought it would be good time to open, ahead of when we hope the barbers’ can return on July 4.”
